Andrea Cellacchi gained international prestige after winning the 1st Prize at the 10th Aeolus International Competition in Düsseldorf, Germany, and the 1st Prize at The Muri Competition 2016, Switzerland, being the first Italian who has ever gained these prestigious awards. He was also winner of the Premio Abbado 2015 and of the 1st Prize in the International Bassoon Competitions Audimozart 2016, G. Rossini in Pesaro and City of Chieri. At the age of 19, he won the Principal First Bassoon position at the Konzerthausorchester.
In 2018 he won 2nd Prize at the Internationaler Instrumentalwettbewerb Markneukirchen and the 1st Prize at the International Fox-Gillet Competition 2018, organized by the International Double Reed Society IDRS in Granada, Spain. In 2019, at 22 years old, he became Principal Bassoon at the RAI National Symphony Orchestra in Turin and won 2nd prize, with no awarded 1st prize, at the prestigious ARD International Competition in Munich.
As the age of 15, he was admitted to enter the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy, where he attended the Bassoon Master Course held by M ° Francesco Bossone. In 2018 he recieved a Master’s of Music Performance at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste ZHdK in Zürich, Switzerland, in the class of Professor Matthias Rácz, where he is currently attending the Specializing Master in solo performance.
