Benedict Kloeckner, born in 1989, is one of the outstanding artists of his generation.
He performs worldwide as a soloist with first-class orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, the German Radiophilharmonie, the NDR Radio Symphony Orchestra, the MDR Radio Symphony Orchestra, the German State Philharmonic, the Kremerata Baltica, the Camerata Oslo and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. He works with well-known conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Christoph Eschenbach, Ingo Metzmacher, Michael Sanderling, Clemens Schuldt, Heinrich Schiff and Sir Simon Rattle.
Benedict Kloeckner makes guest appearances in concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall New York, Kennedy Center Washington, Symphony Hall Chicago, Arts Center Seoul, Musikverein Wien, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Tonhalle Zurich, Gasteig in Munich, and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Rudolfinum Prague, the Athenaeum Bucharest and the Barbican, Cadogan and Wigmore Hall London.
Concerts, awards, prizes
The next 2021/2022 season promises many exciting projects. He plays the 6 Bach Cello Suites in the Berlin Philharmonie, in the Alte Oper Frankfurt and in the Carnegie Hall in New York. He makes his debut in Japan in the Suntory Hall Tokyo and in South Africa with the Johannisburg and Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he plays the Schumann Cello Concerto on his debut at the Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels and his re-invitation to the Seoul Arts Center.
