Oboist Hyunjung Lim, a native of South Korea, attended a school for the arts from middle school through high school, majoring in oboe performance. As a high school student she won 1st Prize in the Seoul Metropolitan City Office of Education Competition.
She attended Dankook University where she was a student of Professor Jiwon- Yoon. There she won a concerto competition and performed the Mozart Oboe Concerto with the university orchestra.
She has performed with the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra (Ukraine) at the Geumjeong Cultural Center and was one of 10 young artist selected to perform solo at the Cultural Center.
Hyunjung Lim has performed as oboist with the Hanna Chang Absolute Philharmonic Orchestra project, and performed in orchestra with the conductor Lorin Maazel, and cellist Mischa Maisky at the Seong-Nam Art Center in Korea.
In the United States, she participated in the Northwestern Bienen School of Music oboe workshop sponsored by North Western University and John Mack Oboe Camp.
In 2018, Hyunjung won 1st Prize in the New York Sinfonetta competition and appeared in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall with the New York Sinfonietta Orchestra performing the opening movement of the Mozart Oboe Concerto.
In 2019, she won 2nd Prize the New York Young Artists Competition and performed at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center.
She graduated in the Master of Music program at Rutgers University under the tutelage of Authur Sato and currently is in the Artist Diploma program at the Hartt School of Music under the tutelage of Yousun Chung.
