Questions About Listings

Where is a good place to begin?

Go to the Look menu

If you want to see some example listings, go to the Look menu. You can also see a listing for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart that shows how a lot of diverse listings on Mozart’s List can be linked together and all show from the main business listing. There are secondary business listings, a job posting, an instrument listing, a resume, and more. To get some ideas about categories to list in, see the category pages under the categories menu. Can I link my listings together?

Yes! They can all show together on Mozart's List

All listings can link back to your main business listing.

When you are filling out the listing form for classifieds, employment, events, and resume listings you will see a field that says ‘Link to Business.’ Fill in the name of your business listing and wait until the name of your business listing shows under the field and click on it.

If someone goes directly to a classified listing that you have linked to your business listing they will also see a link to your business listing.

Organizations can show upcoming events, merchandise, employment opportunities and use each listing as a ready to go promotion across social media. Go to W.A. Can I have captions on images?

Yes! You can put photo credits & information

When you are adding photos there is an option to add credits. These include title and/or caption. After you load the image (near the bottom of the listing form), if you mouse over the image you will see the option to edit or delete the image. Click on the edit icon and you will see a field for title and a field for caption. You can use one or both. The caption is best for the photo credit. To view your title / caption, you can click on ‘preview listing’ which is next to the ‘submit listing’ button at the bottom of the form. You will need to have completed the required fields for this to work. Scroll down to the image area below the text description and click on any image. Then mouse over the image and you will see the title / caption. Let us know if you have questions or need assistance. We are here to help. 

What are the best practices for images on Mozart's List?

Recommended specifications:

LISTING IMAGES

     • 144 dpi

     • shortest side – 600px

     • best principal first image 600px high by 900px wide

Image maximum size – 2 mb

Images are not cropped, so profile orientation images will have white background along the sides. Landscape orientation images will fill the image window.

PROFILE IMAGE

300 px by 300 px or larger

PROFILE COVER IMAGE

1300 px by 225 px or larger

Are the guest book comments moderated on Mozart's List?

Yes!

Comments on the listings are moderated on Mozart’s List.

Comments on the news feed are moderated by the community also.

How do I renew a listing?

Listings are tied to your membership.

Listings renew with your subscription. Please keep your listings up to date and remove any listings that are no longer relevant.

How do I upgrade my listing?

Go to your account

You can upgrade your listings by upgrading your subscription. Go to your account. Your account can be accessed by clicking on the wheel icon at the bottom of the left of your desktop screen or in the drop down menu of your profile image. Click on subscriptions to see the upgrade options. Learn more about upgrade features on the membership page

How can I avoid using my address?

You can just use your city, no problem.

While it is important to have a location on Mozart’s List, you don’t need to use a street address. Just put your city in the address field. The other fields should automatically fill with your country and region. In some cases, you may need to fill in your city, region, or postal code manually.

Mozart’s List is organized geographically and so the location of your business, event, or item for sale is relevant to your local and international community.

Will everyone be able to see my email address?

No, we use a contact form

On Mozart’s List we use a contact form, so if someone is contacting you they will not see your email address. Of course if you want to show your address, you can put it in your description. 

Mozart’s List also gives members the option of having members they are connected to on the site contact them through a private messenger.

What is the Social Importer?

Bringing existing information into a listing

If you have an existing business or event listing on Facebook you can use the social importer on the listing form for business listings and event listings. The information that fills in automatically will still need to be edited and checked. For example, if you have a website listed in Facebook without the ‘https://’ prefix, you will need to add it on the form for Mozart’s List. Check the images that are imported. Sometimes there are multiple copies of the same image. If you have not updated the information on your Facebook page this might be a good opportunity to see what is there. Why are 'tags' required on Mozart's List forms?

Specific terms for being found in 'search'

Tags can make your listing easier to locate through search. For example, if you are a pianist, you might have in the title of your listing, your name, then piano as your subtitle. Then in tags you can add ‘pianist,’  your country, a composer, or a specific label. Tags are ways to elaborate on ‘categories’, and any other text in your listings. Use tags to augment the associations of your listing. Please contact us if you have more questions.

Miscellaneous Questions

How does search work on Mozart's List?

There are many options

Mozart’s List is a series of different types of listings with approximately 300 categories between them. 

You can search by name, type of listing, category, and location. Go to the ‘Look’ menu and choose a specific section of listings. There you will see the different search choices.

There is also a separate search that operates across the site from the menu header. Use the search icon (magnifying glass)  to see one particular item across the whole site. For example, if you type ‘piano’ you will see piano in the business directory, the classifieds, employment, etc.

What can I use my profile for?

Get to know your profile area

Because Mozart’s List is a place to do business, it’s important to have some tools that help you keep track of your listings all in one place. You can do this in your profile, under the ‘listings’ tab. There you can see all the different types of listings, your saved listings (favorites), comments on your listings’ guest books, and comments you may have made on other guest books. Your listings are only visible to you, even if your profile is visible to the public or your connections. 

 

What happens to my listings at the end of the year?

Managing your subscription

On Mozart’s List, your listings are tied to your subscription. So as long as your subscription renews, your listings will continue to show. The exception is with events. Events stay up for a period of time after the event and then they expire. Subscriptions are set to auto renew. You will receive notifications beginning ten days before your subscription is set to renew. If you would like to change your subscription, you can either downgrade or upgrade. If you would like to not have your subscription renew automatically, please contact us. If you decide to downgrade your subscription in the first seven days, you can request a refund. All other refunds or prorations are at our discretion. Let us know if you have questions. We are here to help.

How do I connect to other members?

Your network on Mozart's List

In your profile area is a list of members. (Some members will choose remain invisible). Click on the member you would like to either follow or connect to. You will be taken to their profile. There you will see buttons to connect or follow. Let us know if you have questions. We are here to help. 

How do I remove my account?

Accounts can be removed by request

If you would like to have your account removed we will have to do this for you. Please contact us.
