Donor Communications and Events Specialist

We are currently searching for a Donor Communications and Events Specialist who will be responsible for coordinating and fulfilling corporate and individual donor benefits (including complimentary tickets, events, logo placement, and other recognition), developing innovative donor stewardship communications, and collaborating with colleagues to advance relationships with all donors.
Create and implement donor relation strategies that deepen the engagement of corporate and individual donors and sustain long term connections with the Minnesota Orchestra
Lead cross functional fulfillment team to plan for and ensure delivery of corporate donor benefits
Partner with colleagues and vendors to identify requirements for on and off-site donor events such as pre-concert receptions, musician appearances, and other specialized promotions
Partner with marketing communications to develop sponsorship-related stories and videos to use in Minnesota Orchestra channels and to share with sponsors
Create and manage engaging, innovative, and consistent donor stewardship communication plans
Lead the creation of donor stewardship marketing collateral and mailings that showcase information regarding concerts, events, collaborations, and other related data
Assist in writing and assembling general solicitations, including common grant proposals for institutional funders
Assist with other development functions in the stewardship of donors, including Symphony Ball and other donor events
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience in donor engagement or related experience
Demonstrated experience using MS Suite, specifically, Word and Outlook
Demonstrated experience using customer databases, preferably Tessitura
Demonstrated ability to think strategically yet provide tactical execution
Excellent written communication skills with strong experience in writing both corporate and individual donor communications
Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to initiate direct communication with donors, prospects, volunteers, and vendors
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with all levels of management and staff
Self-motivated with the ability work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to attend evening and weekend events, typically 2-4 evenings a month
Ability to assist in event set up and decoration if necessary, ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
