In the fall of 2019, a few months before the pandemic made its way to the world, Alessandro Deljavan was engaged to perform the Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Boston Philharmonic, making his Boston debut. Maestro Zander presented the concerto three times at Jordan Hall at the New England Conservatory and at Sanders Theater at Harvard.
“This encore was on the second of the three performances of the Brahms Concerto No. 2. After spending three memorable days with the orchestra and maestro Zander, I felt the desire to present my homage to them.
The emotional charge was incredible and performing in the historic Jordan Hall at New England Conservatory made the event feel even more extraordinary.
Being there on that particularly wonderful day made me a better man and a happy musician.”
